Making The Movies Jealous – Marriage Proposal Goes Viral!

Earlier this week, we laughed as one man’s mall food court proposal went terribly wrong. Today we’re being served with yet another viral marriage proposal video, but this time around the guy is onto something. Forget dropping to one knee in front of the Cin-a-Bon…that’s just plain corny. Matt Still had something else in mind that the average man simply cannot attain; making a quality movie trailer that his girlfriend will actually see on the big screen. The brilliance played out while his girlfriend Ginny settled in to see The Hangover 2. Rather than sitting back and yapping about which movie trailer looked stupid, and which she wanted to see, a high quality clip that her boyfriend concocted showed up on the screen. The video is actually called ‘Greatest Marriage Proposal Ever!!!’ and has officially gone viral with over 500,000 views. It begins with a conversation between two men whose faces are out of the frame. Almost immediately, Ginny recognizes them as her father and Matt, who are discussing his plan to pop the question. The trailer itself isn’t what impresses me. It’s actually the way he worked in his entrance. After the cinematic-style trailer plays, it cuts to Matt [...]

bankrupt-philadelphia-orchestra-announces-new-fundraising-and-outreach-plans

This is a real case of trying to turn lemons into lemonade!

The Philadelphia Orchesta is seeking Chapter 11 bankruptcy, due to financial struggles stemming from fewer donations, shrinking endowment income, pension costs and rent prices.

But in an attempt to keep the group afloat, officials have announced that they'll be kicking off a new campaign called the Listen With Your Heart initiative in order to raise awareness and money, and will be hosting public events for fundraising and outreach in downtown Philly restaurants, hotels, and shops!

Wonderful! We sincerely hope that every music lover and supporter of the arts in the area will do their part!

It is SUCH an important cause!

Fingers crossed for you guys! Hang in there!

Brief History and Background of Synthesizers

Over the years a lot of different types of electric guitar have hit the market. And various rockabilly guitarists have probably used just about every type there is. But one type of guitar has risen to iconic stature in the rockabilly world: the hollow-body guitar. And to narrow things down even more, the Gretsch guitar company has really ruled rockabilly since the early days with their 6120 and other models. So, what is this "hollow-body" business all about?

Elvis Presley And The Music He Helped To Popularize

If you're thinking about taking the summer off from your music lessons, think again. Your motto should be: "Use It Or Lose It!" Taking too much time off from the consistent study of music always results in losing skills, technique, and motivation. Many people take the summer off, for instance, do so in order to "save tuition money"; but as you read on, you'll discover why it actually COSTS you money when you take that break.

Alanis Morissette Celebrates Her First Mother’s Day

Singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette, who gave birth to her first born child in late December, celebrated her first Mother’s Day as a mom yesterday and shared an adorable new photo of her son Ever Imre on her official Facebook profile. When last we saw photos of Alanis and Ever out and about in public, it was [...]

I’m not sure how YOU spent your Mother’s Day this weekend but if you’re a good son like Ryan Gosling, then you flew home to visit your mom … even if she wasn’t home. Ryan made his way to his mom’s home in Toronto, Ontario as a sort of surprise … but when he arrived, she was not home … and he had to sit on the porch waiting for her arrival. Thankfully, Ryan didn’t have to wait for long … and he got to surprise his mama right on her front porch :)

As you can see, Ryan had his trusty MacBook laptop computer to keep him bizzy while he waited for his mom to get home. It’s funny that the poor guy doesn’t have a key to his mom’s home but … his Mother’s Day weekend surprise worked out nonetheless. I’m certain mama Donna was THRILLED to come home to find her handsome son waiting for her on the porch. Sounds like the perfect way to celebrate Mother’s Day to me ;D

Britney Spears Hosts A Dinner Party To Raise Funds For Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

Oprah Winfrey, the woman who literally has it all, was honored in her adopted hometown of Chicago, IL by outgoing mayor Richard Daley with a street named in her honor. The street directly in front of Oprah‘s Harpo Studios in Chicago has been renamed as Oprah Winfrey Way in honor of her 25 successful years in the Windy City. Oprah happily appeared at the ceremony yesterday where her street name was unveiled, check out some photos and some deets about this honor below.

On Wednesday, outgoing Chicago Mayor Richard Daley gave another departing Chicago institution, Oprah Winfrey, a civic version of a parting gift: Her own street. Daley, who will leave office next week after more than 22 years, honored Winfrey by naming a block in front of Harpo Studios “Oprah Winfrey Way.” Winfrey is ending her own two-decade-plus run as host of her Chicago-based television show. “Your presence in Chicago has been a gift …” Daley said, moments before the cover was pulled off the sign that stands in front of the studio’s main entrance, calling Winfrey “a great ambassador for our city.” Winfrey was equally effusive about Daley and her adopted hometown. “I just want to say thank you to the mayor and also to the city of Chicago for embracing me and allowing me to take a stand and make a stand here in this city,” said Winfrey. Winfrey is the latest of well over 1,200 celebrities, religious leaders, activists and others who have been honored with street signs in Chicago. The list includes Michael Jordan, Siskel and Ebert, Frank Sinatra — who has two — and the geniuses behind Chicago-style hot dogs and pizza. More than 100 people crowded onto the block and dozens more stood behind police barricades that blocked both ends of the street in one of the best attended ceremonies since the city started honoring people with the signs in the early 1980s … Winfrey told the crowd about coming to Chicago in 1984 to host a morning talk show, “A.M. Chicago,” and how she fell in love with the city and decided quickly that if she didn’t get the job she would find a job, perhaps in advertising, just so she could stay. Winfrey said having a street named after her was “better than an Oscar or an Emmy.” “It is really just a full circle, miracle story,” she said, “that a little colored girl born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, on a red dirt road ends up with my name on a street in the greatest city in the world, Chicago.”

I mean … Oprah has countless awards, massive amounts of money, her OWN television network … why not add a street to her collection of accomplishments. I can’t say that I’m at all surprised that Oprah got her own street name … in fact, I wouldn’t even be surprised if the entire city of Chicago were renamed after her. There is no doubt, Oprah Winfrey has enjoyed HUGE success in Chicago and she has shared much of her success with the city that has been so good to her. After 25 years in the biz there, it totally makes sense that Chicago, IL is now home to Oprah Winfrey Way.

Last Summer I fell in love with the new ABC Family series Pretty Little Liars and altho I didn’t talk about it every week, I watched the entire first season religiously. As you PLL fans may know, the first season ended with a pretty cool cliffhanger … and season 2 is just around the corner. ABC Family has just released the first promo video for the upcoming second season which will premiere this Summer. Check out the clip in full below.

I can’t help it … Pretty Little Liars is SUCH a guilty pleasure. Despite the fact that the show isn’t really all that salacious, I do find that I am constantly sucked into the drama on a weekly basis. The first season was really entertaining … and the second season looks just as good. Altho I’m a bit worried that the novelty of not knowing who A is might get old, I am superexicted for the upcoming second season. Any Liars fans in the hiz? Are you excited for season 2?

His latest accusation is that Dennis took "a hit" out on himself around the time his baby twins fought to stay alive due to an accidental overdose!

Whoa! Tell us Randy, did he employ one of these "star whackers" you keep going on about?

This guy's a quack! When are we going to get him deported back over here so he can be thrown in prison?

On second thought, perhaps he should stay in Canada for a bit longer.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, Randy also told the reporter that he wasn't "crazy…I'm an actor."

Music And Its Influence On Us

Music is something that every one enjoys. It is a very important part of people's lives as some people bring out their emotions through music. There is music every where we just need all we have to do is listen carefully. It is very important to listen a number of musicians ignore this component. I feel music cannot be judged as it is a very thing very personal to an artist. Every person is different and has different ways to express themselves. There are different instruments that are required to express music. There is a lot of peace that people find in music.

Funny Pictures: Finding Pictures That Will Suit Your Specific Needs

If you are using wireless microphones very often you will find these tips useful for maintaining them. To clean the lavalieres smudged with make-up and pop filters smeared with lipstick, use ready-to-use alcohol swipes. These can stain these microphone parts and attract more dirt. The alcohol on the swipes can easily dissolve these oil-based materials but rapidly evaporates without making its way into the mike element. These swipes are readily obtainable in groceries or drug stores.
