I'm often approached by curious folk who are thinking about starting out on the road to guitar gladness and at the crossroads of decision as to whether they should take the ulta-amped, neo-tech, modern electric route, or do the natural, organic, acoustic acquisition. Basically, "Should I start with acoustic or electric guitar?" My answer is always the former.
